Going Coastal
Our holiday preparations have included preparing for a two month move to the southern Oregon coast this year. We have never been snow birds as such and find the long trip to the Southwest beyond what we want of our winter relaxation. We elected to try the Gold Beach area as a warmer clime yet not too far from home and our activities here. Lydia has sorority and committee commitments. I on the other hand don’t have much going but reading and writing. I’ve become a very novice rock hound, so will do some “hounding” for stones to polish when we return home. Other than a few agates, my polishing efforts have resulted in ‘pretty rocks’ rather than anything of real interest, you know the kind you find, say “oh, that’s pretty” then throw away.
We leave on Tuesday, with Josh staying behind to work. The forecast for Wednesday is 60 degrees and sunny:)
Both Lyd and I have many beach stories and memories to recall and look forward to adding to the pot, so to speak. We will be staying in Atticus at Turtle Rock Campground, recommended to us by one of Lydia’s cousins. I will post to the blog often as we settle in for the winter at the beach.
